We have only had this microwave for a couple months now. Overall, it's great! If I had to point out one thing that has stood out to me, it's that the handle shows fingerprints pretty easily. So if you're OCD, you will be cleaning it a lot. But the color is amazing so we are fine dealing with it.

All 4 appliances (refrigerator,dishwasher, stove, microwave) are new and in black slate. Touching the handle on the microwave ALWAYS leave a mark, no matter how clean your hands are will the other appliance handles do not leave marks. This is extremely irritating and makes me regret my selection

Not as good as it used to be...

I am comparing this oven to an earlier model. The newer model seems less solidly built. The buttons don't give as sure feedback when pushed, and the layout of the buttons is not as intuitive and harder to use. The results are the same, I'm just not as comfortable with it as I used to be.

Not the same microwave that I am used to

We bought the exact same microwave that we had bought two years before. Our extended warranty had covered an issue we had had with it. I wanted the same because of the look of the appliance. I love the black slate. The outside looks exactly the same....but it is not the same product. It is not made as well as the other. The door is super light compared to the other and has a hollow sound. The fan blows out the top and there is no cover to keep from things falling in to the area that is blowing out. Also, the inside is not the same color and sometimes the door fogs up when cooking anything that may steam. I am thankful I bought another extended warranty....because I have a feeling I may need it.

Bought this product new 4/28/2019, less than 3 years ago. It worked well for 2 years. 6 months ago, it was making noise while the door was OPEN?? We unplugged it and plugged it back in and it worked fine, for 3-4 months. Now, it won't heat. Everything else works fine, clock, vent, light, timer, turn-table, etc... all work fine, but NO HEAT !?!? I got it from Sears and they won't even talk to you unless you bought the extended warranty. I am impressed that today's engineers can design something to die 2 months after the warranty runs out. My last GE microwave lasted 17+ years. I like the old engineers better.

Nice upgrade since my Spacemaker XL1800 died after 20 years. The handle on the new one feels cheap, like it might break or fall off. And I don't like that the floor of the microwave doesn't sit flat; it's like a waffle for food to fall into… nothing but wasted space. Finally, it's fingerprint resistant EXCEPT on the handle, which is the one thing you touch EVERY TIME it is used! Dumb design flaw!!

Bought this to replace our broken above the range microwave. The good. Looks good in our kitchen, has great features, and runs quieter than any microwave we've owned. Now for the bad. Instructions for hanging were to long and not some for us lay people and when I opened the box found NO owner manual/ Instructions how to use all the fancy features! And that is way I gave you 4 stars and not 5!

Defective "New" Microwave

After installed; which they did not do properly, I got a sensor error when using the reheat button. I had to also stop it before time and it was extremely hot; not what you would expect from a reheat. I was told they would report that and ask for another one to be exchanged. I haven't heard anything. There seems to be a defect with the sensor.

Awesome Microwave and the color matches my stove perfect! Excellent quality and durability. The control panel is easy to use. Easy installation and the paper template is an easy way to drill the holes where you need to for the install. Thank you GE for another great product!
